Who am I?

Andrée-Anne Lorrain

One thing is certain, I love what I do. From a very young age I knew that I was going to work in healthcare, and frankly I am not disappointed! I love connecting with people, investigating, asking questions and better understanding the situation and helping to address it. I am in my element. So much so that one diploma wasn't enough!

I started my training with a bachelors degree in public health at the University of Ottawa, which I completed in 2013. Afterwards, I wanted to continue my studies by finding a field that would allow me to work with people and stay active. I am passionate about the complexity of the human body. The body is an incredible machine made up of several interrelated systems. Body mechanics are complex, but so interesting! This is certainly why I decided to become a "mechanic" of the human body, that is to say, a physiotherapist. I finished my  masters degree in physiotherapy, still at the University of Ottawa, in 2015 and I have been a member of the OPPQ ever since.

From the beginning of my practice, I decided to go and gain more knowledge by taking courses on jaw disorders (TMJ), on perineal rehabilitation, and on the vestibular system. I wanted to be a versatile physiotherapist and be able to help and support my patients with their health problems. Over time, I realized that I needed to deepen my medical knowledge to improve my practice. That's why, in September 2018, I started a bachelors degree in nursing at the University of Montreal. My goal is to be able to better assess, understand, treat, refer, and relieve my patients. After three years of hard work, I finally completed my second bachelors degree and became a member of the OIIQ in September 2021.

Known for my great empathy, my boundless energy, my sharp sense of humor and my love of a job well done, I love challenges and solving complex problems. No booboo scares me! It will be my pleasure to work hard to help you!

Outside of work, you can find me in the mountains enjoying a nice hike or on my bike. Otherwise, I'm certainly comfortable on the couch with a good fantasy novel or the latest TV series of the moment!
