Vestibular physiotherapy
Being in a roller coaster is fun... when you are actually in a roller coaster.
What does vestibular physiotherapy mean?
The vestibular system is what keeps the body in balance. Located in the inner ear, it is the organ that analyzes changes in direction and the impact of gravity to give the brain a reliable position of where we are in space.

How?
Vestibular physiotherapy is concerned with restoring the function of the system if it is failing. This is done through exercises, repositioning maneuvers or manual therapy techniques to relax the cervical spine. Here is an example of a condition treated in vestibular physiotherapy:

-
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)
-
Vestibular hypofunctions
-
Balance issues
-
Concussion
-
Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)
-
Etc.
